I hope this section does not have to be race related, but here's my feeble attempt at a tie in:

I'm not racing tonight because I'm watching the final episode of The Office. For me, it has ranked in the top three of sitcoms all time. Thanks to it's creator, Ricky Gervais, who started it in England almost, what, ten years ago. (The irony is, it did not run for more than a season over there). It is now syndicated in almost every country worldwide and made several careers. At its height it was the funniest and most irreverent sitcom ever created, IMO.

It was hilarious at first. When Stevie C left, I left... Lol

He was a big part of it's decline, but moreso the writers, I think. He did come back tonight.

I enjoyed the show immensely. I'm pretty loyal, so I'm surprised that I stopped watching around the time Michael Scott left the show. I really honesty hated that character, which shows you what a good job Carrell did. I didn't know that the English version only went for a year.... that's crazy.

Less than that actually. Like 6-8 episodes. Gervais then got a call from NBC and said they wanted to run a series. Gervais said, in his typical humor, is this a prank? lol. Gervais actually played the manager role of Michael Scott in the British creation. Later, when Steve Carell got an Emmy, someone asked Gervais, "You were actually Michael Scott over in Britain, right?" not realizing the irony in the question. The rest is history. Syndicated in hundreds of countries, many created their own episodes with "each country's version of the show, whether it's "La Job" in Quebec, "Le Bureau" in France, or "HaMisrad" in Israel, differing slightly from the original British version of the show."

I heard the American version got syndicated over in Britain too. Did many people watch it?

I watched some, i quite liked it but i find Ricky Gervais can get a little annoying.

Luongo, I think your humour is the same as mine! Liked the series but just find Gervais tiresome!
