This would be a great starting point to get into PC gaming. Very similar in spec to the upcoming next gen consoles. Would be a good console replacement and it's fully customize able. Games are ludicrously cheap as well.

I only picked high quality parts, you could build this for less than £250 if you wanted to but i personally wouldn't risk it. I love building PC's and talking about the hardware involved. What do you guys think?, could you build a better PC for the money?

Main features
Fast Quad core, Impressive on board graphics, Sata 6Gb/s, USB 3.0, Stupidly fast memory(just picked up some myself), Quality case with USB 3.0, 80 Plus efficient power supply.

Components
Motherboard: MSI FM2-A75MA-P33 Motherboard £38.10

Built up one of these using spare parts mainly. Took some photos as i went along to give you a rough idea what i was doing.

1) get all of the components.

2) Strip back case.

3) Install IO shield.

4)Install the CPU or APU in this case. Don't use force, it should just fall into place if the triangles are lined up correctly.

5)Install motherboard into the case, make sure the little metal standoffs below are set up correctly and correspond to your board. you can also at this point route some cable under the motherboard for a tidier build.

6)plug in some of the more annoying cables such as sata and front panel connectors.

7) install the Power supply, and route the cables round the back, if you case allows this.

8 ) Install fans and the hard drives.

9) Install memory and CPU cooler. Don't forget the thermal paste between the cpu and the cooler like i did the first time I built one Smile

10)Make sure everything is connected to the motherboard and the power supply correctly. Then tidy up the cabling in the case, hide it behind the motherboard tray if you can. then put all the side panels back on. There is normally something that need a little tweaking but for the most part it's finished.

Going to use it as a steambox hooked up to the tv. Kind of a project rig for the AMD APU's, the new ones are out in February and it looks like the built in graphics are going to be the equivalent to a HD 7750 which is pretty potent. Looking forward to getting my hands on one.
