Blancpain Development Races.

Any interest or input? Blancbuilds

Any interest or input? Trofeobuilds

My goals:
1. Have a fun night of racing
2. Allow limited building and unlimited tuning opportunity.
3. Mimic the Blancpain Endurance Series and more.
4. Points awards for painting.

The plan:
1. Give drivers enough time to test, build, paint, and develop any cars they are interested in. Expect a date at the earliest to be in October.
2. After the race, use the same cars in a weekly series. Possibly PI adjusted.
3. If successful the Trofeo races will be treated like special events within the series, like the Patron Endurance races within the Tudor series. Trofeo races will be run in addition to the Blancpain race for whichever nights are scheduled.

An example schedule might look like:
week 1 - All 3 races
week 2 - Blancpain only
week 3 - Blancpain only
week 4 - Blancpain only
week 5 - All 3 races
week 6 - Blanpain only
week 7 - All 3 races
week 8 - All 3 races
In this the Blancpain Series runs 8 weeks while the Trofeo races run for only 4.

Bump for adding solid PI builds for the Trofeo classes.

The Maserati will also fall into the Blancpain Development race class.

Basically, follow the guidelines for build limitations and make the car as fast as you can. LMK if there are any cars that have an unfair advantage.

I am open to adding sports cars that are newer than 2009. If you find something give me a heads up.

If it doesn't say anything on the build limitations does that leave it open to conversions as long as I stay within the PI? For example could I make a car AWD and/or change the aspiration?

Never mind I found it. No AWD or engine swaps, but aspiration is okay.

No engines unless mandated, RWD only.

The engines that I have mandated for the BMW and Ruf are to make the car competitive at the 710PI mark.

Ruf (stock HP too high)
Luckily the Ruf engine was "downgradable" or the Porsche would have even less handling, like the Ferrari and McClaren.

Z4 (stock HP too low)
You would have no room for choice with the stock engine. Too make the car competitive, all engine upgrades would need to be applies and still it was lacking. I decide to go with the v10 although the other available engine would likely accomplish the goal of giving the driver room to build.

I posted a time in the Bentley @ Top Gear Full - 1:14.8xx
The only friend I have who is faster than that time is Skywarp @ 1:13.8xx in a Jag. I would like it if you all could use that track as a gauge for the cars ability.

Power to weight ratio apparently has nothing to do with lap times.

After running 10 laps in each car at Top Gear, the cars with the highest P/W were mid pack. Before I kill that regulation, I will test them all at Road America to confirm this.

I built the cars to S710 PI, disregarding the P/W rule. My builds were all handling focused using a default tune with tires at 28 PSI F&R, Diff settings at 60/30, Brakes at 53/100.

All in all, as I have the cars built, the entire field was within 1.6 secs. These times are a best lap, dirty or not. As a note, I also tried adding the 13 Viper to the mix however it was running 2.3 secs better than the average.

Red, Orange, and Yellow cells denote cars with values highest in the category.
Grey cells indicate the worst 3 cars in the category.
OFF AVG is the seconds above average for the field which the car achieved. Negative numbers indicate that the car was slower than the average.

I have my builds and tunes done, so I can start some testing with you now. I also included the 2013 SRT Viper as it fit very well. I had trouble building the cars using the weight requirement so for the purpose of testing I ignored (I noticed you did too). I built every car individually as I would if it was mine for a series. Some are grip and some are speed.
I plan to test them on Road Atlanta, Long Beach, Catalunya, Spa, Silverstone, Sebring, Prague. Any you want me to switch out?

I added the sport roll cage to the Bentley and it improved lap times by a full second.

I tried a bunch of different build including that, IMO the Bentley is still the best w/o the cage at all. The car struggles with brake distances and corner exit grip. Adding more weight means more power which will exacerbate the corner exit issue and add to the braking distances from both the extra speed and the extra weight. Tuning and throttle control will be the key with this car.
