Lap times at Road Atlanta?
Since this is my home track, I'm interested in what kind of lap times you all are getting at Road Atlanta? I'm around 1:26, but I know I can get that down. Hell the Turner BMW with only 9 more PI points can do a 1:24. (Xman, sent you the replay as proof). I'll post a couple different tunes in the appropriate section FWIW. Any comments appreciated. Maybe I can get into lobby two WITHOUT "fail to qualify" help.

Don't pay attention to this guy ^ He's a loony. Just add a second or two to whatever he says and go from there.

Why does my internet have to stop working now?!?!
I am running consistent 1:22.1 -1:22.5's
This could have been my first chance to make it to lobby 1

Re: Lap times at Road Atlanta?
I ran about 5 laps earlier and hit the 22s. I know once I tune it I will pick up time. That was my nur gp tune.

Re: Lap times at Road Atlanta?
With a bit of tweaking i still run 1:24.12. Oh well, at least I see improvement. little tire pressure, -.1 rear toe, dropped some damping. We shall see. Need to work on the lines and gearing. Car feels good for the first time, though.

I forgot to mention, those times above were run with your tune October.

IIRC that was right when I came back to Forza (after a year's break) and it was in a race and I was strugaling badly. Very few of my times you'll ever see were a hot lapping session or anything like that, I've always wanted to have the time to set times in every class / every track and see how far I could get up the leaderboards (both on a certain track with the best car, or just in terms of the "total time spent driving laps" ranking they have) but have never had that kind of time on my hands.
I wish!
As for your tune, the camber is a lot higher than what I've been running but I'm definitely not in the "anti camber" camp by any means. Would be interested to see what Raceboy thinks about that. ARBs I tend to have a bit higher up front just for the sake of stability. I assume the aero is maxed?
I'll send you my tune later if you'd like to run it and compare. People tell me my tuning sucks though.

Re: Lap times at Road Atlanta?
Helli, your times are always the benchmark, as far as I can see on most leaderboards. Del has good times too, along with many others, I'm sure, who may not appear there or have not driven in the same car and class to which I am comparing. You blasted your own time from last year (or recently) by around a second or two, no?
I try to compare times from the best drivers who do not use any assists (and you use absolutely zero as far as I can tell), prefereably on a wheel and pedals (especially for tunes), running cockpit view. PiiHB seems to tun this way too. Top one percent is damn good, seemingly impossible to me, but there are many excellent and dedicated drivers (with the opposite of arcade preferences) out there apparently, especially in this group.
Funny you mention the tune. (And thanks). I gained about a second last night after moving the ARB's up to F20 R22. Next, I will reduce the camber and max the areo and see what happens. It's hard to get the front tires to heat up. And also, pedals/me seem to prefer 100%.

Aha... Yeah my tunes may be useless since you use the wheel and pedals.
No what I was saying is that time wasn't a real time as I'd call it, it was just in a race and I was going off the track just about every time around it. I think that was literally the first race I jumped into after spending over a year away from the game, so that's why I was saying beware of looking @ those times, the context will always be in question.

Re: Lap times at Road Atlanta?
Tweaked the setup a bit. Thanks for the info on various tunes. Got the car pretty stable now, and the gearing suits me well. There is probably more time in the tune, but tinkering with it will drive you mad.
I'll post the final tune later tonight if anyone cares. Flirting with 1:23s but I know there is more time yet unclaimed. I must have logged 200 laps. Whew.
I need to get better cresting the hill entering turn 2 and throughout that downhill S complex. (That's where traction control would be a godsend.
Makes me feel a little better:
