Re: NASCAR CHAT AND DISCUSSION
Tonight is Texas Motor Speedway! Who are your picks? Busch brothers on the pole. I may be a little biased here, but I am going with Kurt. That team is getting better and better and better each week.
Also - watch out for Vickers in the 11 car. He has not forgotten how to drive and he is really good on the mile and a half tracks.
Who is your pick?

Chip Ganassi selling to John Menard?
One of the hottest stories in the garage Thursday was intense speculation that veteran team owner Chip Ganassi may be considering selling his two-team NASCAR operation to John Menard. Menard, who owns the Midwestern home improvement chain Menards, is a long-time racer, and he is currently sponsoring his son Paul's NASCAR team, part of the Richard Childress organization. Ganassi and Childress are both Chevy men. Childress supplied Ganassi's two teams (with #1-Jamie McMurray and #42-Juan Pablo Montoya) with engines until this season, when Ganassi switched to Hendrick motors. Of the sport's top eight team owners, Ganassi this season ranks seventh in finishes. Of particular disappointment is Montoya, who is averaging a 27th place finish; Montoya's last top-10 was at Michigan last June, and his last tour win was at Watkins Glen in the summer of 2010. McMurray's seventh at Martinsville last weekend was his best finish in over a year.
MY TAKE: Go get a damn driver Chip! JPM is good for your team's global marketing, but he has done nothing in years. You need to get Larson ready ASAP because you need a young gun to get up to bat, my friend

So if this happens, Paul to "EGR"?
My Picks: Kurt, Matt, Marcos, Brian
Top Pick to win: Matt or Kurt

Marcos... Hmmmm. Good choice, but he has to able to hold it together at the end.
Matt is probably the real pick by the experts. He has found new life in the 20.
Dark Horse - Kahne - dominated mile and a halfs in the 9

If he does, I think it will be a THIRD team. I am looking at more of an alliance. I really do not think that Ganassi will pull all the way out.

Re: NASCAR CHAT AND DISCUSSION
FROM JPM TO A UK PAPER
Juan Pablo Montoya does not regret making the move. “Formula One drivers are convinced that they’re so much better than anyone else,” Montoya, who races alongside Dario Franchitti, the Scottish driver, for the Chip Ganassi team, said. “When I was in F1, every week I was on the podium. It was cool, but is it satisfying? It wasn’t, because it was the most boring races. The guy who started in front of you would drive away from you and the guy who was behind you would drop away from you, unless you f***ed up in qualifying and then you need to have a different pitstop strategy to beat them.” Although Nascar is very much an American sport, there are attempts to raise its appeal outside the United States, to tap into the disaffection many feel with Formula One, whether through the Max Mosley saga or the the lack of competitive racing. “It’s boring,” Montoya said. “It’s a shame because the technology these cars have and the amount of companies that are involved is unreal. I don’t know how big companies do it for such a long time without results.” In Nascar, there are more than 40 cars racing wheel to wheel for up to three hours. “It’s harder here,” Montoya said. “When you run fifteenth, sometimes you think it sucks. But look at the big picture: fifteenth here is like sixth or seventh in F1, because there are twice as many cars. The incredible thing is here I run fifteenth or twentieth on average and there are four or five weeks in the year where I have a chance of winning. In F1 if you run sixth or seventh, you run sixth or seventh the whole year. “It doesn’t matter if you’re running for the lead, or for 30th, you’re always racing somebody. That’s much better.”

I know that. I just figured I would throw it up because its semi-auto and had traction control in it. Haha

Re: NASCAR CHAT AND DISCUSSION
No. Nor do they run grooved tires. Next year they will be V8. Turbo, I think. Weights are much lighter now. That graphic is about 6 years old.
Interestingly, they don't talk about the down-force. Enough to run the cars at 160mph on the ceiling.

That was a better race than I thought. Texas usually has some stuff at the end, but good job 18.

Re: NASCAR CHAT AND DISCUSSION
Kansas! Another stop in the Midwest, aka Outlaws country! This is a uniquely shaped track that has multiple lanes to run in!
If you are in Fantasy NASCAR, get the picks in!
Who is your pick for the race? In going with old number 20 this week. Matt has the best avg finish at this track and is on a strong car.
Dark horse - watch out for bowyer. This is his home track!

What do you guys think about the Penske cars getting penalized heavily! 6 races w/o most of the key personnel on the pit box???? Wow.

It's turboed v6's and they can run upside down at 100mph

Go find your F1 chat section. We only turn right twice a year.
This is for cars fueled by American Ethenol, uses 6 crew members, and loves "200 mile an hour" tape to fix dents.
