Lap 3 of the 2013 24 Hours of Le Mans proved fatal. GT driver Allen Simonsen in the #95 Porsche dropped a tire onto the wet paint on the outside edge of Mulsanne corner, which caused a loss of traction and control, sending him driver's side into the wall and collapsing the safety cage around him. The racing community has lost a great competitor.
