Re: Week 1 - Infineon NASCAR Circuit
This is not one of my favorite tracks and as well we all know I am a back pack driver. After 34 laps I don't think I ever did the turns on the first 2 hills correctly. My goal, as usual, was not to touch another car and just stay consistent with my laps no matter how slow I am. There will be accidents and major slip ups and that is where I will take advantage. It didn't seem like that would happen as in the 2nd lap of qualifying I did a sweet 360 at the back end of the track . As the race went on I was very close with Chelsea, Sublime, Stroker and a few others. In summary I managed to not have a scratch on my car and finished in 10th place. I thought I could pass Chelsea at some point but he was faster on some parts of the tracks and I could just never catch up. I did catch him at the end but that was only because he was wrecked by an AI car and it would have been really shitty of me to pass him because of that. I was pleased with the consistent laps.
Race 2 went bad quickly. I think the 34 lapper was long and my concentration was lacking as I went off the track on lap 3 on one of the hills at a fast speed and totally lost control of the car. I tried to stay near the tarmac but then I ended up on the freaking pavement which was terrible. I apologize to the other drivers for that mistake. Helli told me one more mistake like that I am I banned for life... (jk). Anyway this race ended up being the avoid staceunited challenge as he was bouncing around the screen due to lag. Loungo passed me on the last lap and went to pass stace (which I thought was risky) and then I was witness to flying and flipping cars. Loungo and Stace crashed badly due to lag and I gained 2 spots where I probably shouldn't have but I believe both their cars were crushed.
Good racing. My only complaint was I think race one was a little too long as when the faster drivers lapped us turtles towards the end we then had to deal with the AI drivers which kind of ruined a potential last lap battle with Chelsea and myself. That was a bit of a bummer.
I think that Helli kept to his promise of running this ON TIME...even though race 1 was 6 mins late.

Race One
I started next to Sniper at the rear of the grid and had lot's of work to do right off the bat. Had a relatively cautious start making up a couple of spots in the opening laps, and slowly started to pick of cars one by one. It was all pretty calm until I came up behind Sniper and Sublime going though the esses side by side. A slight touch sent Sniper wide onto the dirt and sublime into his gymkhana routine, leaving me to precariously hang on round the outside. It then took me many many laps to catch up to the back of Del and we ended up pitting line astern. Shortly after the pits Del ran a little wide and I snuck past and set about another very fast Alfa. I managed to get past Fastlane with about two laps to go, going into the final hairpin, to end up second on the podium.
Race Two
Race two for me was basically being mugged by the Alfa romeos at the start and being attacked by flying BMW's for the rest of the race. Ended up having three separate lag crashes, the last of which was pretty spectacular as jms saw.
Was hoping to do a little video review but forzamotorsport.net is having some issues, at least for me. Keeps coming up with a 404 error, hopefully sort it out by next week.

Re: Week 1 - Infineon NASCAR Circuit
If anyone could post the replay to their SF I'll get a pic or two posted. I can't save any replays since I use a flashdrive, thx.

Thank you sir, buying the cheapo replacemnt xbox a few months back --- figured wait till the new to spend the money on, anyway with that have to use a flashdrive which blows as you can't save any replays.....and for those of you that tune yourself -- well you know how that really sucks too. Again, thank you

Re: Week 1 - Infineon NASCAR Circuit
Well unfortunately my camera crew has another epic fail to put in the books, not only did they screw up all the footage of the race but also all the commentary that went with it. Blowing off a little steam after race they got abit too involved with the local females and unknowingly fell victim to the after-race party that insued ..... and guess what they tossed in the bon-fire
Anyway with that maybe a better outcome this race and hopefully some footage or at least a pic to post !
