New machine - Windows 8 :(
My old Windows 7 machine blew the CPU so I broke down and bought a Windows 8 machine. All web work will be delayed until I can find an acceptable solution for my lack of Photoshop. By acceptable I mean cheap...LOL
Not looking to spend the 350 they want for it. Does anyone know if PS Lightroom or PS Elements will allow for image resizing, layer blending, and text effects?

I have Photoshop elements somewhere, pretty certain it has those features. I'll check and get back to you.
There is also a program called gimp which is pretty good that's free, I've used it a little bit. You should try it see if it does what you need it to do. Download

Thanks for the info. I'll let you know how I make out. We're currently packing for our vacation so I probably won't get to look at that until I get back.

Re: New machine - Windows 8 :(
Got home and my daughter fired up the Win 7 machine.
My PS was burned, which I replaced during troubleshooting it. At that point the PC wouldn't fire up so I figured my CPU or Board was toast. Thinking RROD from the 360, I redid the thermal compound on the CPU after it fired up for me. Been trouble free with it for a couple days now.
