Post Race Analysis
In last Monday's practice race we had a couple minor issues, an incident, and white line clarification to drive home.
Race incidents (Avoidable Contact)
Several times throughout the race drivers were exhibiting a lack of awareness or concern for their surrounding. Not to pick on Chelsea but I will use him as an example. Chelsea was overtaken by F1AT after the long straight. Chelsea was wide, Fiat was inside however he was ahead of Chelsea at this point. Chelsea turned in (Unaware of Fiat's presence) and contact was made. Nothing major occurred in this incident but this could have quite easily have cost both racers the night. If damage or spots had been lost due to this contact I would have deemed this an Avoidable Contact Penalty.

Corner Cutting (White Line Violation)
This image is an example of white line violation. Sorry DOC, I know you weren't the only one to slip up here but I got lucky watching your replay because the rest of the race you went out of your way to make sure it didn't happen again. Either way the picture is a good example of what not to do. As I have said before, a single incident does not warrant penalty.
Before you judge, this was a one off for his race and I am sure I could find plenty of other images from other drivers making the same mistake (myself included).
Penalty (Avoidable Contact)
Really this was the contact between Dragonjet and Shizmatango. Dragon made contact 3 times with Shizma during a half lap. Each incident by itself would have been a race warning but when combined and adding in the final contact with Shizma getting turned, I would have been left with no choice other than to penalize for Avoidable Contact caused by aggressive driving.
Dragon made another mistake after the final contact and that was not allowing Shizma to retake his position. This courtesy would have bought him some leniency if this had been an actual championship race. Dragon, to his credit, apologized to myself and attempted to contact Shizma post race to make an apology for the incident which was apparently refused by Shizma.
