Forza 6 Initial Impressions
Seeing as we don't have an official forum yet, I figured I would ask everybody's initial impressions of the game so far based on what little the demo shows us.
The Good:
Game still looks nice
Lime Rock Park!!!
Yas Marina at night(!) makes the track more tolerable now
Wet weather is fun. The puddle effects seem to be over emphasized, but started learning to drive around them in those first few laps.
The Bad: (Yeah, this list is a lot longer. Many things are probably more nitpicky than anything else)
The new sound of cars making contact sounds ridiculous. Like 2 bumper boats colliding.
Brakes are WAAAAAAAY too sensitive. Susceptible to lock too easily.
Boosts are unnecessary and I pray these can only be used in Single Player
Cars lose grip much more easily. I feel like this game almost encourages people to drift more.
They added everything I didn't like about Horizon 2 into here*
* Intro video that can't be skipped the first time around (I hope only the first time at least). Also, I'm glad I had background noise and couldn't hear what was being said because the video seemed utterly pointless. The useless drive to the finish line using all assists in the first race. The constant banter of the woman that I can't skip. My biggest issue with this is right from the very first screen that pops up: Forza 10 Years. Many of us have been playing this game since Forza 1 on the original XBox. We know what Forza is, we know how to drive a car (some better than others ) and this game really needs an option to skip all of this. I know that they need to cater to first-time players, but somehow, we managed to get through 4 sequels just fine without hours of extra help. Many of those items in Horizon went away after the first time, but some others did not. Horizon really frustrated me at times when I just wanted to move along from 1 series to the next and I had to wait for the moron to congratulate me and invite me to this Horizon finale that no longer existed because I already beat it twice.... several months ago! As it is, I can wait the 1 week between now and the 10th to play the full game without having to go back through the demo a 2nd time. Having to go through the career mode sampler and listen to all of this again is not worth the time.
I am sure there are many more things to like about the game, but they're all locked up in the demo and there's no way to know. We seem to get a fair amount of free cars between the pre-order and Forza Rewards, but I hope the currency situation doesn't make it too difficult to get to the cars you want to drive. In other words, let's hope Turn 10 learned their lesson from Forza 5's launch. Project CARS had at least 1 thing right from launch: opening the entire garage right from the start. I also hope they extend the limit of setups and paints you can have at any given time. At least up the quota to 1 setup/paint per every car available in the game.

Re: Forza 6 Initial Impressions
Im about to try this demo out tonight and see what all the fuss is about. I hope the actual game gives you a better layout and impression than this Demo has given you Gargos. I have high hopes for it only because forza 5 was such a let down in my opinion and getting rid of the marketplace to trade and sell cars was an absolute disaster to me.

Re: Forza 6 Initial Impressions
Gargos, I think your issues with the cars are that they are untuned. Things like brake sensitivity, over/under steer, differential and down force will fill allow us to fix those issues.
As a controller user it's nice to have a game with correct grip physics and deadzones. when I do lose traction or go off I can correct it, unlike PCars. The biggest difference I found was on Indy. I was able to drive them with all the assists off. I couldn't do that in FM5.
The intro doesn't bother me. You only do it once. The one in H2 was better. The girls voice that did the count down...
I agree there may be a problem with the economy, but the opposite way. Between free cars and Forza rewards I'm concerned the cars will be too easy to get.
For me the demo was a breathe of fresh air and being suffocated by Project Cars.

Re: Forza 6 Initial Impressions
My concern is that if these are untuned cars then this is what 100 percent braking force is. When I used the controller on FM5, my personal tunes were at about 130 and I had less issue than I do now. It is possible to turn them down below 100 which is good, but definitely nervous about there not being much of a gap between locking up and not being able to stop. We will see.

Re: Forza 6 Initial Impressions
Certainly the same lack of grip that we had in 5. Pointing out issues with the demo is pointless, its just that, a demo, a very limited one with bones tock cars. If the brakes seem too stiff even after tuning I imagine they would ix this with an update after enough complaints so I'm not worried with that one, besides any race car I have been in you cant turn the brake pressure over 100%
With rain being in the game is also hopeful we will get rain tires, the vette is bone stock and is prolly sitting on stock goodyears that are crap in the rain, I noticed a slower entry speed into the puddles didn't allow it to hydroplane.
The demo is meant to draw EVERYBODY in, racers and non racers alike, I look for the career experience to be as mundane as always once the game gets here.

Just curious if we can get a head count for those that will have on the 10th and 15th. I will have it on the 10th.

and I'm gonna need the head start, it doesn't seem to be as auto friendly as 5

Re: Forza 6 Initial Impressions
What is the difference between getting it on the 10th and the 15th? how do I do that?! lol and I won't be playing the demo. I would rather start "fresh" on the actual game when it releases

Re: Forza 6 Initial Impressions
I wouldn't worry about the issues some of you guys are having. The physics may not be as good as p-cars using a wheel but the game will still be great. Forza is meant to be more of a relaxed sim/simcade game. You know.. A game where you can be hammered and still drive around the track. The brake can be fixed adjusting the deadzone gargos. I think they may patch it but the deadzone is a good work-around. I'll have the game on the 10th.

I posted something about Sunday Night Speedway on the Forza Forums. I would appreciate it if a few of you posted a reply to show activity for me?

Re: Forza 6 Initial Impressions
lime rock was awesome in the demo... and VR you know you couldn't help yourself with the demo... haha we were already leaderboard running last night with it. I honestly cant wait for the full game and get back into the Forza world... Pcars has been running my life but I honestly hated Forza 5... I would play FM4 more than 5 just because of the fun of selling things, and buying more tunes and designs... just seemed more involved. I loved seeing people buy my designs... felt accomplished... forza 5 left me nothing to feel accomplished with except leaderboards

@Sky and Dan
I get it you want a simcade hot lapper. Some of us like strategy.
