Re: Abarth/Radical Season 1
Hey there, SNG. I just wanted to let you know, that I won't be able to make it to tonight's running of the Abarth and Radical. I've got to get my race car down to a paint shop about 2 1/2 hours away from me. Sorry I'm not able to make it, but it's the only time the guys got to schedule me before my racing season officially starts to get the cars new livery done on it. I really hope I get back in time before it starts.

Re: Abarth/Radical Season 1
I just could not find my rythem in the radical. Maybe it was the slight damage to the left rear of the car and the rear aero. Consistently 3 seconds slower the practice and took the service road on the first chicane like 4 times.
Probably just need more then 5 laps of seat time to get that car down. It's a little tricky at first but fun once you get the hang of it.

Re: Abarth/Radical Season 1
I put in about 20 laps of practice in the Abarth without landing on my lid once. I ran 10-15 laps in the Radical and had it down pat. When I jumped back in the Abarth right before the race, ended up flipping twice. I made it through the start of the race fine, but had to back off a few times to avoid collisions. When dc flipped, I swerved to miss him and ended up flipping myself, but miraculously had nothing but major aero and minor brake and suspension damage. In all, it was some pretty fun racing.
Back in the Radical, I was trying to take it kind of easy as the tires came to temp and ended up getting passed by quite a few people. With the stack up at the bottom of the downhill straight, I ended up giving Peeetey a love tap that resulted in 46% front and IIRC 20% side damage. I could still drive my line, but the speed was gone out of the car, dropping about 8 seconds a lap off of my practice times. It still took a while before I got lapped and I was only lapped by 2, so I guess you could call that a successful race.

Re: Abarth/Radical Season 1
Dawg, looks like you, me and Dylema got hit with the same curse last night...
I got a blinding start with the Radical and just went further downhill with every passing lap. Like you and Dylema, every single lap was consistently way below practice times. Can't figure it out.
In the Abarths, the demons just seemed to pick people at random
I started on pole and managed to build a gap, but a few slow laps from me and a few quick ones from Fuzzy got him just in front of me before he flipped it on the last lap..
Dc was doing great before I went wider than normal in the run up to the back straight, causing him to go wide onto the grass. Sorry about that mate.
Actually, I can't remember if that was in the main race or the practice run beforehand.

Now that I think about it I should have backed off my line after I took damage to the rear and side of the car. I don't think I could push it in that shape even though it was still easily drivable. The balance was just a bit off from taking suspension damage. But every good lap I was taking a second or two out of dawg only to spin or lose it into the chicane.

Re: Abarth/Radical Season 1
Had a good time in the Radical but my Abarth run was sh*t. Started in the back in the Fiat race and got into the back of Dylema early on causing damage to the both of us. Sorry again man.
Not much further into the run I rolled it and did massive damage. In all my practice runs I never came close to rolling it. I limped home to a last place finish.
The thing your thinking about Petey was in the practice run before. No worries.
The crap run in the Fiat gave me the pole for the Rads and was able to lead for 90% of the race. In the end the pressure from Fuzz was to much and I started making mistakes.
Great race all and congrats to the winners.

I may or may not be there. Partly because I can't drive for *^&% these days, partly because I might be out and about.

good racing guys
thought i was going to get top spot in the abarth this week, but the second race in a row where i lose out at the end
and why i picked the radical as a series is beyond me as i can't even drive the thing that well

Re: Abarth/Radical Season 1
Last night was a blast. Anyone viewing this thread that is not running at least the Abarth needs to jump in next Monday. Loads of fun close racing.

Re: Abarth/Radical Season 1
Yep. Those Abarths are a blast. We had close racing in the back of the pack as well.
As for the Radical race, I still have no idea what was going on outside. The helicopter was over the area for about 30 minutes with the spotlight on.

Re: Abarth/Radical Season 1
Sorry about not making it last week. I had a paper due first thing Tuesday and I thought I'd be able to finish it before the races started guess I was wrong. I'm in the same boat or tomorrow so I'm not sure if I'll be able to make it or not.
